Thesis reconsidered

At the beginning of the venture into the research proposal, I thought most of the work would go into researching. Huh. This hasn't been the case...

Composing a strong thesis statement has been the most difficult battle. There are so many aspects of anabolic steroid use in American sports that I've felt like a kid in a candy store. Most of the work I've put in over the last week (between moving and renovating my basement) consisted of muddling through my thoughts and research to sculpt a clean, more specific thesis.

THESIS STATEMENT: The Federal law that placed anabolic steroids in Schedule III of the Controlled Substances Act was created to address a professional sports cheating issue, but it effects all Americans. Very little scientific research was considered with the passing of this law.

Thank you classmates

I was very excited to see that a couple of other students are going to dive into the research paper with new ideas and topics. Very inspiring! So I'm going to go for it as well... my research paper will be about anabolic steroids and the stigma surrounding them. How much is too much? Should they be allowed in certain amounts in athletics? Etc.

Research to final paper

So I'm kind of stuck in limbo at this point. To be quite honest, I've had a very hard time writing the summary, synthesis, then argument on, essentially, the dissection of the joke and women in humor because I have no interest in the topic(s). Don't get me wrong, I've learned alot, but I feel like I'm pulling my own teeth to compose a decent paper. So.... I'm debating on possibly starting from scratch (ugh!) and going with a topic I already have knowledge and opinions about.
