Research to final paper
So I'm kind of stuck in limbo at this point. To be quite honest, I've had a very hard time writing the summary, synthesis, then argument on, essentially, the dissection of the joke and women in humor because I have no interest in the topic(s). Don't get me wrong, I've learned alot, but I feel like I'm pulling my own teeth to compose a decent paper. So.... I'm debating on possibly starting from scratch (ugh!) and going with a topic I already have knowledge and opinions about.

Your gut instinct is probably right; in my experience with this, when students pick something they are really passionate about, it's much easier to research, think, and argue about that topic. I'm not advising you to do one thing or the other, only telling you what I have seen in the past.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with you. I love humor...listening to jokes, telling them, and justing being goofy, but it's not a subject that I enjoy dissecting and writing about. That's why I chose a completely different topic for my research paper.
